Welcome Back
Welcome back to school! I hope all of you had an excellent summer vacation filled with countless memories. I look forward to hearing stories from the students these first few weeks of school. It was great seeing so many smiling faces at our Meet the Teacher event last Thursday. While the students were gone, the Caraway staff has been busy getting the building and classrooms ready for the start of the year. You may have noticed several summer projects including the installation of new flooring, a new playground and the installation of three portable buildings. I heard many students say WOW, when they came to meet their teachers! If you did not have an opportunity to meet your teacher last week, someone will be in the front hallway to direct you if you need help finding your way tomorrow.
The first couple weeks of school will be spent setting up routines and expectations. As a school, we will be reviewing our school-wide agreements, Be Safe, Be Respectful and be Responsible. While we review and re-establish these procedures with students, we ask that parents refrain from volunteering or visiting during lunch. After the first couple of weeks, we will welcome parent volunteers and lunch visitors.
The Caraway staff thanks you for entrusting your children with us. We welcome your partnership in their education. I look forward to seeing you all on September 8th for our Parent Orientation Night.
See you soon!

Firstname_Lastname@roundrockisd.org, You can also access our staff directory here.

Dismissal Procedures
Our number one priority is student safety. We do our best to create a safe and efficient plan to dismiss our 740+ students. Parents should make every effort to communicate their students after-school plan to the classroom teacher. If the plan changes please notify the front office ASAP, so that we can communicate the change to the classroom teacher. The following plan will give you an idea of what to expect during after school dismissal. For students in grades K-2 we identify their after-school plan by using backpack tags. These tags are labeled with the student’s name, parent’s phone number and the after-school plan (i.e. car-rider, bus, YMCA etc..).
All students are escorted to the dismissal locations by the classroom teacher. Please take some time to review our after-school dismissal procedures.
