A School to Emulate

Memorial Elementary Bobcat Bulletin 9-14-15 through 9-18-15

Superintendent Visit_Meet Dr. Binggeli

We are finally moving forward with making adjustments to our classrooms and settling into our instructional program. Thank you for your flexibility and patience with the process. As we make this transition, we may have some concerned parents. Please be mindful of your word choice and tone while talking with parents as we help them adjust to the change.

Sara and I continue to see wonderful instruction. You are going a great job of modeling and holding students accountable for producing great work. Keep it up! We will continue to look for targeted small group instruction, the 4 Cs, and scholarly language throughout the day.

As you can see from the "What's Happening" section below, there is a ton going on this week. Be mindful of upcoming deadlines and trainings.

One major event is our visit from Superintendent Binggeli on Thursday (9/17). We are A School to Emulate and I know that our actions will show it. I will talk more about what to expect at our staff meeting Wednesday (9/16). We will continue to do our best work and let it speak for itself.

Our first Bobcat Visioning meetings were great. I love the discussions and next steps that came out of analyzing the data. We will continue with K, 2, & 5 this week. Plan to meet in the large conference room.

Here is where we are with implementing our school-wide instructional initiatives with fidelity. Everyone should be well on their way with guided reading and this week everyone should be be in their intervention & enrichment groups.

That's HILARIOUS! Send your funnies my way...

During writers workshop Mrs. Sherwin was modeling a story about her family. She asked if anyone remembered her babies' names and a student shouted out "IKEA!"
