Principal's Message
Dear Royal Families,
We had a good week this past week. As we enter the final lap of the race that is this school year, we have been talking with our Royals about finishing strong. It is easy to think we can slack off as we near the end. However, now is the time to continue to persevere and finish strong. A break will be here before we know it. We are excited about our end of year plans to celebrate all of the work our Royals have done this school year. We have virtual activites planned for our fully remote students, a socially distanced field day for our hybrid in-person students, and specific activities to celebrate our 8th graders. Some of the activities are mentioned in this newsletter. If your child is an 8th grader, we are finalizing an invitation for additional formal activites now. You should receive it in your inbox soon. Please reach out if you haven't received it by next Wednesday.
We sent the first round of invitations for the summer learning opportunities at Quist. If you received that email, please complete the form by May 4th to receive transportation.
Next week is Teacher Appreciation Week! We have several things planned for our entire staff. However, I know that the staff you interact with on a regular basis would appreciate knowing the difference they have made for your family this school year. Please consider sending them a note or having your child write one.
Finally, here is a link to our Quist Virtual Art Show. Enjoy!
We appreciate you and thank you for your partnership! We hope you have a wonderful weekend and are able to enjoy the spring weather!

8th Grade Continuation Ceremony - SAVE THE DATE
We want to celebrate our 8th graders transitioning to high school! Unfortunately with Covid guidelines we can not do our traditional 8th grade ceremony. We will have 8th grade continuation parade(s) on May 25th and May 26th at 2:15pm. In person students that attend on B day (Wednesday and Friday) are invited to drive through the parade on Tuesday 5/25. In person A day (Tuesday and Thursday) students are invited to drive through the parade on Wednesday 5/26. Virtual only students are invited to drive through on whichever day works best for them. We are asking that students do the parade on the opposite day that they are in school so that they can be part of the parade route and cheer their classmates!
Families will be asked to begin lining up/staging for the parade in the Riverdale Ridge High School parking lot beginning at 2pm. We will begin the parade at 2:15pm. The parade route will go through the main RQMS parking lot, around the hug and go lane, north past the football field, and exiting onto 136th Ave.
If you have any questions, please contact Darcy Brown at dbrown@sd27j.net or 303-655-6957.
27J Transportation for 2021-2022 School Year
We are inviting anyone who may require transportation in 2021-2022 to register for busing through FamilyID today.
- Important: All current bus riders must re-register for the upcoming school year. Registration information does not carry over from year to year.
By registering now, you will secure your spot for next year, allow us to determine ridership numbers, and help us best plan bus routes for the upcoming school year. While we cannot guarantee that all COVID guidelines, set forth by Tri-County Health and the Colorado Department of Health and Environment (CDPHE), will be lifted by the start of the 2021-2022 school year, we continue planning forward through the end of this year and into the next, as we all look forward to a safe return to full, in-person learning.
Transportation is provided to students within their school boundary area. If you are new to the district or unsure of your home boundaries, please contact Sandy O'Shaughnessy at 303-655-8998.
Don’t delay! Register today!
