Dear Parents,
Thank you to everyone who joined us for our two honor roll assemblies and our perfect attendance awards last Thursday and Friday. We had a great turnout. I am incredibly proud of our 123 students who had perfect attendance for the first semester. Please continue to send your children to school on time each day. The rewards are incredible.
I understand that some of you may not receive our emailed messages and thus may not see the links to the online version of the weekly newsletter. This week’s online newsletter is available for viewing at https://www.smore.com/qkb2e. The online version includes information that is not available when the paper version of the newsletter is printed, as well as photos and links to websites that may be of use to you. Please check it out. You may also want to check your Spam folder if the newsletter isn’t in your inbox.
Our 5th graders will take a short ride over to Rudder High from 9:00 AM to 11:00 AM this Wednesday so they can learn about the middle school fine arts electives available to them. Please send a note to your child’s teacher tomorrow morning if you do not want your child to attend. Our Transition to Middle School night is on Monday, February 1 at 6:30 PM in our library. All parents of fifth graders are encouraged to join us. Mrs. Skelton will share information about programs available at the different middle schools and answer questions that you and/or your children may have.
Our PTO has a profit share at Casa Ole’ this Thursday from 4:00 PM to 10:00 PM. You must give the flyer that went home last week to the cashier in order for the sale to count toward our total. I hope to see you there.
I would like to invite all parents and guardians to an informal coffee with me this Saturday, January 23 from 8:00 AM until 9:00 AM before the 4th Grade Math Saturday begins. I’ll be available to meet with you and answer questions you may have. Please call our secretary, Mrs. Brubaker, at (979) 209-1400 to R.S.V.P. by 2:00 PM this Friday so that we can purchase enough coffee, tea, and breakfast snacks.
Our Watch D.O.G.S. Wall of Fame is now up in the cafeteria. This wall showcases those fathers and father figures who have come in to volunteer as Watch D.O.G.S. We are planning a Saturday morning Donuts With Dads event in the near future to give those men who could not attend the pre-Christmas Break pizza party a chance to sign up. All fathers/father figures and students are welcome to attend though. We’ll send information home as the date nears.
Remember to contact either Mr. Josh DeLeon at (979) 739-6209 or by email at spokes276@yahoo.com, or me at (979) 209-1405 or by email at john.rokenbrod@bryanisd.org if you are interested in serving as a Watch DOG. Don’t forget about the Bryan ISD volunteer form that must be completed in order to volunteer at school and/or chaperone a field trip. The form can be found at http://tinyurl.com/prklgum and it can be completed on a computer, smartphone, or tablet.
Thank you for your continued support of your child's education.
Sincerely,
John Rokenbrod
