Cloning
From Animals to Humans: is it safe?
History
Cloning is when you extract an organisms DNA and you insert the DNA into a female egg cell. Once it is fertilized by a sperm cell it grows into an exact replica of the organism that the DNA was extracted from. The main cause of cloning is to repopulate extinct or endangered species. The first cloned organism was a sheep named Dolly. Although she looked the same she didn't live as long as the original species.
Dolly the Sheep
This was the first cloned animal in the works and it is Dolly the sheep. She was cloned by Professor Ian Wilmut. Even though the sheep grew the same it only
lived 7 years.
DNA
This is a cartoon picture of DNA. When you make a clone you extract ones DNA and insert it into an I fertilized egg cell. Then an exact replica is created.
Cloning Humans
Cloning humans is a big question in the world of science. Many are worrying if it's safe and that is why it still remains a question.
Cloning Humans
There are still many questions about cloning humans. For example if it is an overall safe thing to do. Or if the life expectancy is the same as the average human.
