A Message from Mrs. Swieckowski

Hello Hodgkins Families,

Here we are in September! We are incredibly happy to be back in the building and doing what we love to do most...educating your children! It was a long spring and summer but we are finally getting into a routine in the building. Right now we are in the process of administering the Scantron assessment to all of our students. Scantron is a district assessment that is taken on the Chromebooks. Since this is a computer assessment we receive the results instantly. This data will help us determine the most appropriate instructional steps for each child. Please ask your child about their assessments and discuss how they feel that they did. As always, we encourage all of our students to do their best so we have the most accurate information to determine their needs and also their strengths!

Thank you again for all of the kind words and flexibility that you have shared with us over the past few weeks. It means a lot to our staff!

With Kind Regards,

Mrs. Swieckowski

School to Home Connection: Review of Empower

Student Walkthrough of Empower for Extended Learning

One of the most important tools in our system is Empower. Empower is a platform where students retrieve assignments from their teachers and you as the parent are able to view your child's assignment scores and are notified of any missing work that they may have. Students are able to submit work, ask questions and work through playlists of instruction. Whether a student is in remote learning or in person, it is incredibly important they understand how to navigate through their Empower account. Please take a few minutes to review this video which gives a brief navigation of the basics of Empower.
