CHS Weekly Update
Week 9: 10-27-19
Halloween and End of 1st Marking Period!
At the end of this week, we will officially be halfway through the end of the first marking period. Time has seriously flown by! Captains are running their annual Halloween costume fundraiser this Thursday and we will cap off the week with our invite-only conferences on the half day on Friday.
Other Things on My Mind...
- Thanks, Brenda Bechtol, for being the first person to share out one of your best ideas/practices with Sign Up Genius. I can see so many applicable uses in my own practice and even when lines get long at our conferences on 11/4.
- I have received almost all advisory pre-post results from the first rotation. Please make sure to share these with me if you have not by the end of the day tomorrow. We will be looking at this data and discussing any changes that we will make as a part of our PD on 11/5.
- SAT Student Performance Summary Sheets are done. These will be shared out to you to give to students in advisory this week.
- Academic Letter and NHS Induction will be on Tuesday this week. Please stop by for this quick event - it's a great opportunity to see students and celebrate their hard work academically.
- Tomorrow, 10/28, the admin team will be meeting with sophomores, juniors, and seniors in the auditorium during 5th and 6th hour (see email I sent on Friday) to discuss what we shared with our freshmen on Friday. I don't anticipate that the meetings with the juniors and seniors will be the same as our younger grades, but we will touch on all of the points that I shared. Thank you to all of our staff who came down on Friday and helped us to enforce the tone with the freshmen.
- As you schedule your conferences for the half day on 11/1, please make sure to focus on parents who you need to see first. Use the form that Dan shared to log who you have scheduled so we know who will be in the building. We do have conferences on Monday, 11/4, that are open to all parents. These are from 6 - 8 pm in the gym.
- Progress reports will be due 11/4 at 11:59 pm.
- Have a fantastic week! :)
