Principal's Newsletter

From the Desk of Ms. Clark

November 5, 2020

Dear Parents,

During the month of November, we focus on the virtue of GRATITUDE. As a Catholic school principal and as principal of SKD in particular, I am thankful for so many things. Each week during this month, I will share my gratitude with you in my newsletter. This week I will focus my gratitude on all you are doing to help keep our school open!

  • I am so grateful for your diligence and commitment to Symptom Monitoring each day which makes reaching this point possible!
  • I am grateful for the extra time you spend with making sure your children have required uniform, school supplies, clean masks, and sending them with full water bottles each day.
  • I am grateful for you keeping us informed in regards with symptoms within your household.
  • I am grateful for your consideration for the other children in our school and for our faculty and staff.

Thank you for your love, your support, and your cooperation. Thank you for your patience, your flexibility, your trust, and your prayers for everyone who is part of our SKD family. We all need and count on each other as we go through this life and now more importantly during this pandemic.

God’s blessings,

Ms. Clark

Veteran's Day

Since we are unable to have our annual Veteran's Day Celebration, we are creating a Wall of Honor for our Veterans. Each student will receive a Honor Page. Families are welcome to complete and submit the Wall of Honor Page and/or you are welcome to send a photo by Tuesday, November 10th.

Thank you for your sacrifice! Thank you for your service!

Fall Virtual Open House

Don't forget to mark your calendars for our Virtual Open House on Sunday! All are invited to attend, and we hope to see you there! Tours, testimonies, raffles & more are a few items worth mentioning that are in store.
Big picture

Live with Ms. Clark

Each week Ms. Clark will visit a grade level and go Facebook Live so all can see the wonderful learning and excitement within our school building. Since we are not permitted to have visitors, be sure to tune in. Times are posted below under the Dates to Remember at the bottom of the newsletter.

Parent-Teacher Conferences

Virtual & Phone Conferences are scheduled for Thursday afternoon, November 12th and Friday, November 13th. A sign-up genius will be sent out to you from your child's teacher during the first week of November. If you have already met with your child's teacher or you do not feel you need to meet with your child's teacher, please do not sign up for a conference.

School CLOSED on Wednesday, November 25th

School will now be CLOSED on Wednesday, November 25th. It was originally scheduled as a half-day. Please adjust your calendars.

Symptom Screening Tool

The attached tool must be completed each day before coming to school. All parents are primarily responsible for monitoring the health of their children. While it is our intention to remain open for the entire school year, parents are expected to do their part and keep their children home when they are sick.
