Notice of Calendar Change:
The New York Mills School Board voted to revise the schedule for April 5 and 6, 2023. April 5 will now be a regular school day and April 6 will be an early release day at 1:00 pm. As originally planned, there is no school on Friday, April 7, 2023, as this is the Spring Break day. There will be school on Monday, April 10, 2023, as this is a makeup snow day from December 15, 2022.

April ECFE Events
April 3: Eagle Boosters ends
Eagle Boosters will run Mondays and Thursdays from 3:20p - 5:00p when school is in session beginning March 2nd and will run through April 3rd. If for any reason school is called off early or is not scheduled, Eagle Boosters will be canceled. Our program will begin with a snack and a bit of recreation to allow the students a break from the school day.

In cooperation with Lakeland Mental Health, New York Mills Elementary is excited to host its first Daddy/Daughter Dance! The Pink Lemonade Daddy Daughter Dance will be held on Sunday, April 30 from 3-6 p.m. at the New York Mills School. Girls in grades K-6th are invited Intentionally planned the day following Prom, attendees will have the opportunity to participate in a Grand March!
Event plan:
- Grand March Line-up at 2:30 p.m.
- Grand March in the auditorium starting at 3 p.m.
- Dance in the Commons until 6 p.m.
- Snacks and pink lemonade will be provided
- Cost is $7 per couple, with $3 for each additional child (all proceeds will go to the Student Support Group and summer activities)
- Pre-registration is not required. Register at the door.

QUALIFICATIONS: Children who are at least age 5 and enrolled in Pre-K through Grade 6 in the New York Mills School District.
DATES: Tuesday, May 30 - Thursday, August 17, 2023 (NO FRIDAYS)
TIMES: 6:30 a.m. - 5:00 p.m.
COST: $3 per child, per hour

Summer Childcare Contracts are located in the Childcare Room, Elementary Office & District Office.

Note from the Health Office
To help prevent the spread of illness:
- Encourage your child to wash their hands.
- Ensure your child gets adequate sleep each night.
- Provide a water bottle for your child to use at school to keep him/her well-hydrated.
- If your child is ill or is not feeling well, please keep him/her home.
- If someone within your household tests positive for COVID, please keep all students that live in that house at home. Call the Health Office 385-4216 for further guidance.
Pink Eye - MDH no longer requires schools to exclude students with pinkeye. This was changed in 2019.
Fevers - Students should be fever-free (without the use of medications) for 24 hours before returning to school.
Strep Throat - Your child will need to be on antibiotics for at least 12 hours before returning to school.
NOTICE: If your child needs any prescription medication administered at school, including eye drops, you must present a doctor's order requesting the medication be given at school. The order must be turned in before any medication will be administered. Office visit notes will not be accepted as a doctor's order.
Notice from the Elementary Office:
If your child needs a change in their afterschool plan, a parent or guardian must call the office no later than 2:50 p.m. Changes that come in after 2:50 p.m. will not be guaranteed.
