Mrs. Anderson
Our PBIS Cardinal Cart is up and running! We’ve had so much fun celebrating your student(s) hard work! This incentive helps us to reward students for positive behavior while preventing unwanted behaviors. We are still in need of donations to assist in running our cart throughout the year.
If you would like to donate, you may access our Cardinal Cart Amazon wish list here.

Culture4Caring
Our first Culture4Caring meeting was a hit! Students worked together to decorate posters for Friendship week to display around our school. Our December Culture4Caring meeting will take place on Wednesday, December 7 from 7:15-7:40 in the library. Please drop your student off between 7:00-7:15 at the FRONT school doors. Please do not drop off students after 7:20 for Culture4Caring meetings. There will not be an adult at the front to let them in after 7:20. Our focus for this month will be Unity. We will be decorating grade level boxes for each grade level to collect socks and gloves for our upcoming Gloves and Socks Drive for the Homeless (December 8-15).
Cardinal Celebration Station
At Krahn, we love celebrating your students! If you haven’t gotten the chance to see our Cardinal Celebration Station in person yet, we hope that you do soon! Each month we focus on a core value or leadership quality. Each teacher nominates a student from their homeroom class that exudes the selected quality. Students who are nominated are celebrated on the Cardinal Celebration Station with a certificate including their picture and why their teacher nominated them for the award. At the end of the month, students take their certificates home. We hope that you continue to celebrate your students for these qualities at home! For the month of November we celebrated students who demonstrated being a “bucket filler”. December’s core value spotlight is serving others. Check out the “10 Ways Young Children Can Serve Others” picture to get ideas on how to promote serving others with your students! A great way to serve others would be by donating to our upcoming Gloves and Socks Drive. We are so proud of our Cardinals and cannot wait to see all the great ways that they continue to live out our Krahn Core Values!

Late Arrival/Early Dismissal
If your child arrives after 8:10 in the morning or is having an early dismissal a parent or guardian must sign them in/out at the front office. The front roundabout is used for buses and is a fire line and cannot be used for parking. You will need to park in one of the visitor parking spots, or across the street if there are no spots available.
Krahn Carpool
We are loading over 300 students in the afternoon carpool in 25 minutes!
We need your help to make sure our system runs safely and smoothly.
Please adhere to the following carpool expectations:
Students are released at 3:25.
Stay in your car. Staff will assist with opening doors for students who need assistance.
Stay in the lane that you are in. Numbers are put in by the order you are in and students are lined up accordingly.
We will stop inputting numbers at 3:50. After 3:50, you will need your carpool tag or current photo ID to sign them out in the front office.
No photos of carpool tags are accepted.
Overflow is for students who have not made it to the carpool area when their round is loaded.
Thanks for your help Krahn families!

Lexia
Did you know that 99.6% of students who met the Lexia end of year Benchmark passed the STAAR? Lexia is an individualized phonics based program that meets students at their current level. Students can access this program at home.. Having your child get on Lexia for 15-20 min. will benefit your child greatly. The time they spend working on Lexia will also work towards our grade level Lexia challenge. Every Monday the class with the highest usage from the previous week will receive a stuffed Krahn Snoopy in their class, along with a class reward. Please reach out to your teacher with any questions about how to access the program at home.
