Biome Description
The location of the grasslands are north of the Tropic of Cancer and south of the Tropic of Capricorn. The general characteristics are large rolling terrains of grasses, flowers and herbs. Local climates for particular kinds of plant growth in a particular grassland thay only have a few trees in grasslands
Abiotic Factors
Weather of grasslands is it rains in late Spring, early Summer. Climate of the grasslands are usually moist and humid. The temperature is in the winter the temperature can be as low as -40ºF, and in the summers it can be as high as 100ºF. It rains 25-60in of rain per year.
Hills
The grasslands have lots of hills
Ponds and Lakes
They are common in the grasslands they are very large and deep
Flat Lands
mostly flat in the grasslands with hills
Biotic Factors
Grasslands has a lot of animals most are herbivores or plant eaters/grazers with insects all around. It has many different types of grasses, purple needle grass, wild oats, fox tail, rye grass, buffalo grass
Ecological concerns or issues
The grasslands have many different species of plant and animals and could be in danger. Dust storms happen al the time and could wipe out the different types of plant and animals. Droughts do the same thing as dust storms. Humans could ruin this beautiful landscape by builds home and looking for oil and make the animals move to a different location
