Golds uses in electronics
Most electronics use low voltage and easily corroded metals that can stop the current but using gold it can highly increase the voltage and not be corroded. When using gold in electronics it is very reliable. Gold is usually used in connectors, switches, relay contacts, soldered joints, connecting wires and connection strips.
Uses of gold in medication
Gold is used as a drug to treat a small number of medical conditions. Injections of weak solutions of sodium aurothiomalate or aurothioglucose are sometimes used to treat rheumatoid arthritis. Particles of a radioactive gold isotope are implanted in tissues to serve as a radiation source in the treatment of certain cancers. Small amounts of gold are used to remedy a condition known as Lagophthalmos, which is an inability of a person to close their eyes completely. This condition is treated by implanting small amounts of gold in the upper eyelid. The implanted gold "weights" the eyelid and the force of gravity helps the eyelid close fully. Radioactive gold is used in diagnosis. It is injected in a colloidal solution that can be tracked as a beta emitter as it passes through the body. Many surgical instruments, electronic equipment and life-support devices are made using small amounts of gold. Gold is nonreactive in the instruments and is highly reliable in the electronic equipment and life-support devices.
Gold teeth
When getting a filling or cap dentists couldn't get an iron cap because it would rust and corrode and you would start tasting iron after a few days.Gold alloys are used for fillings, crowns, bridges and orthodontic appliances. Gold is used in dentistry because it is chemically inert, nonallergenic and easy for the dentist to work.
Uses of gold in aurospace
Gold is used in circuitry because it is a dependable conductor and connector. In addition, many parts of every space vehicle are fitted with gold-coated polyester film. This film reflects infrared radiation and helps stabilize the temperature of the spacecraft. Without this coating, dark colored parts of the spacecraft would absorb significant amounts of heat. Gold is also used as a lubricant between mechanical parts. In the vacuum of space, organic lubricants would volatilize and they would be broken down by the intense radiation beyond Earth's atmosphere. Gold has a very low shear strength and thin films of gold between critical moving parts serves as a lubricant.
Au facts
Au or gold has an atomic number of 79 and a atomic mass of 195. Gold has a total of 79 protons and electrons with 118 neutrons on average. It's melting point is around 1,064°c and it's boiling point is 2,856°c.you will most likely find gold at room temperature at a solid state of matter. It has a total of one isotope, the single isotopes size in 197Au. Gold classification is metal and belongs to the transition metal group. The origin of the name has several origins from old English as geolo and Latin aurum. From what we know nobody actually knows who or when gold was discovered because it was discovered by the ancients.
