Bartley Elementary PBS
Positive Behavior Interventions and Supports
The beginning of something good.
PBS or PBIS is a positive behavior program that is implemented K-5. The same basic rules and terminology are used for every student in the building. This is effective because it essentially takes the guesswork out of what we expect out of all students and creates an environment where everyone knows what is expected of them.
Tickets
Tickets are given to students who who are being good examples, and who are continuing to make good choices.
Tickets can be turned in to receive prizes and recognition.
Clip Board
Student behavior is monitored on the classroom Clip Boards. All students start on green and being on green constitutes a great day. If students continually do well then they can move their clips up to blue. If a student is making poor choices, then they may have to move their clip down to yellow or red to help remind them that they need to make better decisions so that they can move their clip back up.
Hive
Hives are given to whole classes that are making good choices. Classes can receive Hives in any school setting. Hives can be collected to earn classroom prizes and fun activities. Classroom Hive counts are also collected and count towards whole school prizes and fun activities.
Safe, Respectful, Responsible, and a Learner
PBS Pledge
Every morning our students pledge to be a Bartley Hornet that is Safe, Respectful, Responsible, and a Learner. PBS is not just about rules, it is a positive outlook that every student, teacher and staff member practice in their daily interactions.
