Updates for Stilwell Junior High School Families
Sept. 19, 2022
Message from Principal Kuhnert
Families thanks for a great start to the school year. We had a chance last week to show off our new facilities to our school board members and they were impressed with the work that has been completed so far. As students start to get settled into the year we will start to see new behaviors. We have noticed an up tick in classroom tardies so we will be focussing on this as a staff. Please talk to your students and make sure they understand the importance of being to class on time. Staff will be working with their Tiger Time students but parents can see their students tardies on Infinite Campus as well. We encourage you to keep up with that information and reach out if you have questions to your counselors. Who are the counselors you ask? Watch the below video to meet Mr. Johnson and Ms. Cooper.

School Highlights
Card Club:
Like to play cards? Have cards but don't know how to play? Join the Card Club every Tuesday from 2:40-3:40 in Mr.Schill's room. We play card games like Magic the Gathering and Pokemon or board games like Monopoly to Settlers of Catan. All card and board games are welcome. Please reach out to Mr. Schill if you have any questions. Hope to see you there!
Quest Around Coranth Club:
"Do you Like roleplaying, RPGs, fighing games, or building your own character? Sign up for Auditions for The Quest Around Coranth in a few classrooms. It's a customized story for Dungeons and Dragons, you'll be auditioning on a google meet. The DM will send all signed up people a link to be used until 10 PM on September 21st. Sign up sheets are located in your elective classroom but you only need to sign up on one sheet. Auditions will start the 16th of September after school and will end the 21st of September at 7PM. The first meeting will be the 23rd of September. We will meet in room 1313."
Parking lot:
We had a bit of a scare last week with our students walking across Grand Ave at 16th Street. We reminded all students to use the cross walk at the corner of Vine and Grand when coming to school. We know that is a bit of a walk for some students but it is much safer. Reminder that when the new lot on the North side of our building in complete the current entrance off of Grand will move further down which will improve the congestion of that area. Stay safe and move slowly when you turn right out of the parking lot.
