Principal's Message

Dear MCES Families,

Be sure to sign your child up for the Power Scholars Summer Academy! The scholars will receive academic time with their professors in the mornings and enrichment opportunities in the afternoons. Some of the enrichment activities will include programming from Fantasy Playhouse, The Tennessee Aquarium, Local Aviation representatives, and swimming. If you have not already signed your child up for the program, please see more information and registration link below.

All students in grades 3-8 have completed their Scantron testing. Students did a great job! We still have DIBELS and Star testing over the course of the next few weeks.

  • Currently enrolled Pre-K students will NOT need to register.

School Lunch Information

The Breakfast and Lunch menus can be found on the MCSS website here and also on the MCES School Lunch Menu Facebook page here Make sure you follow the page!

The daily menu, special meals and lunch account info is posted here.

We also have a way that you can view your child's lunch account balance online!

Please go to PayPams to sign up!

Once you are registered, you can view the account balances, add money anytime, and even set up auto-reload so your child never runs out of money! You can also set up to receive email notifications when your child's account has a low balance. It's super easy!

Need help? Feel free to come see Mrs. Brandy at the front office.

Free/Reduced Lunch Status

Did you know that you may apply/reapply for Free/Reduced Lunch Status at anytime during the school year?? If your income decreases or if you have a new addition to your family this may change your qualifying status. Once approved you are approved for the entire school year. Please feel free to apply/reapply either online or you may request an application from the school.


Attendance Information

** In general, a note must be brought to the school within 3 days of an absence. Only 8 days may be excused by parent notes. Additional notes must be from a physician. If a note is not received within 3 days of the absence, the absence will be coded unexcused. Truancy meeting begin at 3 unexcused absences.

** School hours are 7:45 - 2:30. Students should be in the classroom, seated by 7:45. The warning bell rings at 7:43 and the tardy bell at 7:45. If students are tardy to school, parent or guardian will need to escort their child to the front desk for a tardy slip.
