Literacy
- Look for Information about Progress Monitoring for all students to come out this week.
- We will continue Opportunity Block planning/"checking in". We will meet with your PLC one time during the month of December for this conversation.
- Literacy Information flyer HERE. Don't forget to scroll to the bottom to see a collection of resources.
- Classroom Libraries - Stay tuned. Lists are finalized. As you know the district is also going to be supporting this effort for new teachers/new sections. We would like to follow up this week to see what next layer needs to be addressed.
- We are getting closer toward scheduling volunteers to read with kids. We will be sending out information soon. We are also looking at a therapy dog who can visit!
In Your PLC - Same Information as Last Week
- Discuss Student Growth Documentation/Measures (we will also review at next Staff Meeting). Please share about this with new staff in your PLC. Same as last year - still need 2. I will go over the evaluation timeline at next staff meeting, but thought the growth measures would be good to bring up in advance.
- Bottom Line Doc. Please look over/review this in your PLC. For now, just focus on the Reading and Math columns. We will be examining this more closely in our next staff meetings.
On Your Own - Same Information as Last Week
Please read Chapter 2 and 3 of Conscious Discipline and view 1 video of choice via the Book Portal for each chapter. We will share out at staff meeting on 12/13
You should have received an email regarding SafeSchools Online Training (bloodborne pathogens, etc). Please complete all trainings by December 21st. Let me know if you did not receive an email.
Thank you notes to Veterans and Fall Clean Up Volunteers. Please sign up HERE if your class can write a few. We have cards that can be used for the Veterans (will place by mailboxes - take what you need).
Share any Thinking Routine artifacts for the 7 habits with Allison or Erin
Make sure SeeSaw folders are set-up using THESE GUIDELINES
Students should have Reading WIG with Action Steps written by December 8th
Co-Curricular Class/Student WIG should already be in place and tracking (class posted)
Staff WIG already written; consider publicly tracking and share progress/reflection with students. We will discuss this more.
Read over the Evaluation Timeline (slide 12 ). Ask Jen if you have questions.
Rather than full day ITM - Jen will continue Top 5 discussions monthly with PLC’s. PLC can plan to take 1 full or 2 ½ days for Opportunity Block planning and prep. You should use the Title code when putting in for this day(s).
