Message from the Principal's Desk
Greetings Titan Families,
We’ve had a lovely week here at THS as we settle in to our school routines and schedules. We very much appreciate your efforts to have students arrive on time for school to begin promptly at 7:30 AM. I would respectfully request that if you drive your student to school, please follow our designated traffic flow and drop off zones. Please do not stop on Ballenger Creek Pike or utilize our staff lot for drop off. This has been creating traffic jams and near accidents. I appreciate your attention to this matter.
As we begin our first official day of fall athletic competition today, we hope that you are able to join us this evening for Friday Night Lights to cheer on our varsity football team, cheerleaders, and marching band. When you arrive, please forgive the construction equipment and materials. Thankfully our new turf field is ready for action (yay!!), but the track re-surfacing is not quite finished. Crews will be back next week and will need the track for seven straight days to complete their work. We appreciate your patience as these improvements are made to our facility.
While today is the first official day of fall sports, our golf team has already had a number of matches, and our girls flag football team won their inaugural game on Wednesday. It’s pretty excited when a new sport is added to the options for students and our students displayed excellent skill and sportsmanship.
Next week we will conduct our annual safety week in order to practice a variety of safety drills such as, fire, severe weather, lockdown, drop, cover & hold, lockdown, and avoid, deny, defend. We will review the expectations and how to keep ourselves safe during each drill.
I hope you have a wonderful long weekend!
Sincerely,
Lisa Smith
Principal
