A message from our Principal
Good Afternoon,
Kristina sent me a note to ask if there was anything else I wanted to include in this last newsletter of the year, and that it was going out in the morning. I cannot put it off any longer….I must say goodbye and thank you from the deepest corners of my heart.
Nobody tells you when you start a career that retirement is hard…..and so emotional. It brings up so many life issues that you thought would never come your way… the achy knee joints are not going to go away no matter how much you work out, no, you cannot tear up your brand new Medicare card. You really did sign up to help plan your 50th Class Reunion Forest Grove High School, and yes, you really do qualify for the senior discount….everywhere!
The emotional wrestling of stopping doing something which I dearly love, and has been a part of my life for so many years has been spinning around in my brain for a couple years. I have been “going to school” every September since 1962! I will miss all of this, and especially all of you; students, families, staff, and the day to day challenges and celebrations that go with being an educator.
Sometimes people roll their eyes and question your sanity when you say you are a teacher. I am so proud to be a teacher, to have had the privilege to be part of so many lives! It is so fun to run into students from the past and hear what they are up to now! Ask me about my experience having a colonoscopy a few years ago; I did teach Anatomy and Physiology for several years in Glencoe’s Heath Services Career Pathway J I encounter previous students all over, doing all sorts of things, even bringing their own children to HOA! Several students that I had in class are teachers here in HSD, or far away…or are even here at HOA!!!!
I ramble on about teaching as a career, because it has been such a great way to spend a life; to work in schools helping students learn and grow! We have a teacher shortage right now…I just wanted to share….to our students…and to you…teaching is a great career! Want to learn more? Just ask a teacher!
Okay…I did my advertisement for teaching, told you a little history….and now I must go. I will miss you! I look forward to seeing you on a trail, or at the winery where I get to pour wine for folks from all over the world, or who knows where, (maybe at PT after I get the achy knees fixed)!
My Best to You,
Linda
Last call for student work!
We're excited to showcase all of the amazing creations, art projects, Senior Projects and more that have been coming in!
See you on Friday!
This year we will be collecting all Chromebooks from students for our technology team to update, repair, and/or replace Chromebooks as needed to be ready for the 23-24 school year.
Please make sure you bring your Chromebook to school any day between June 12-16, including the charging cord and the stylus. You do not need to clean or remove any stickers or other items on the Chromebook as we have the right cleaning solutions to take care of that for you.
Students are not liable for accidental damage to the Chromebook. However, students who do not turn in their assigned Chromebook may be charged for the loss and seniors may have their diploma withheld.

Each course is a 0.5 credit course.
There is no fee for current HOA students. More details are listed on the Registration Form.

If parents want to pay online for school meals, the new platform has switched from Titan Family Portal to Linq Connect.
A few things to note:
- Parents usernames and passwords will be the same
- All data from Titan family portal is already in Linq Connect
- The new website is linqconnect.com - This is where families can add money, view the menu and apply for meal benefits
- The Titan phone apps will no longer work, families can download the Linq connect app or use the website
- Please contact Linq connect support if your username of password doesn’t work: support@linqconnect.com; or 888-464-5467
- Families were sent an email notification from Titan regarding this change
