Superintendent Briefing
May 4, 2018
We have some great activities occurring throughout the district. As we continue to strive to make NPPSD a great school district, it will be important to work collectively in achieving greatness. Anytime you have greatness occurring at your school, please share so we build upon each other’s strengths. Thank you for the great work!

Practices that Make Great Leaders Great
Positive Leaders Pursue Excellence - Some think that positive leaders are just about having fun and don't care about winning. This couldn't be further from the truth. Positive leaders are very competitive. They pursue excellence, build greatness and often try to accomplish the impossible. You don’t have to choose between positivity and winning. Positivity leads to winning.
Micah Fisher, assistant principal, North Platte High School
Mr. Fisher and other NP principals working on completing the AQuESTT - Accountability of a Quality Education System Today and Tomorrow system. AQuESTT is focused on continuous improvement for schools. It integrates components of accountability, including performance on state assessments and graduation, school and district accreditation, college and career ready education, and the effective use of data into a system of school improvement and support.
Great Principals Build Greatness
A great school has a building principal that earns the respect of students, parents, and staff with a clear purpose, high expectations, and the knack to help others succeed. The NP principals understand the people they work with, and are motivated to create a positive attitude throughout the school & build greatness.

Great Schools & Great Students
A great school has students who like what they do each day and are motivated to achieve their goals. All the NP schools have students who have different abilities, needs, and ambitions. To successfully teach all students, the NP staff understands every student is different. The teaching and interactions with students reflect an understanding of each individual student needs.

NPPSD Nurses are Great!
It is an incredible honor to recognize the contributions to student health and learning that school nurses make every day! Students across the country are able to fully access their education because of the interventions and actions performed by school nurses every day. This year we celebrate National School Nurse Day on May 9, 2018. Here are some of our “every day” contributions:
