Show Proof of Summer Reading!

When school starts back in August, bring your reading medal, certificate, or a reading log to the library. You will get a special treat for having read over the summer!

Lexington County Library

Register for summer reading in person at your local branch or online. Log your reading and activities to earn points. Collect your prizes at the library every time you complete a level. Score some tasty treats from Chipotle, Bojangles' and Chick-fil-a, as well as, a book, Summer Reading medal and ticket to a Lexington County Blowfish Baseball game. Summer Reading isn’t just for kids. Adult participants are also entered to win weekly prizes at their local branch.

Richland Library

Scholastic Challenge

The Scholastic Summer Reading Challenge is a free online reading program for children. Log your reading minutes to unlock stories and earn rewards. Help set a new reading world record!

TD Bank

Kids in grades K-5 can earn money for reading books! Go by your nearest TD Bank or print their Summer Reading Form. Read 10 books this summer and receive $10 in a new or existing Young Saver account.

Storyfest SC

Saturday, June 3rd, 9am-4pm

SC State Museum

StoryfestSC is FREE to the public. Events include presentations and book signings by children's authors Rita Williams-Garcia and Sophie Blackall as well as readers' theatre, storytelling, crafts, face painting, and visits from literacy friends Cocky & the Clemson Tiger. MRS. MATNEY: CES LIBRARIAN

Mrs. Matney received her Masters in Library & Information Science from USC and has been a school librarian since 2011. She grew up in Chapin and resides here with her husband and son. She enjoys helping others with books, research, and technology. In her spare time you can find her cooking, exercising, and of course reading! Her favorite authors and illustrators are Mo Willems, Meghan McCarthy, Ann M. Martin, Jon Scieszka, and many more!
