Kindergarten Rocks!
An Invitation To Actively Engage In Inquiry
Rocks, Seashells & Nature
This literacy based workshop will encourage educators to consider how nature can be woven into all areas of the Kindergarten program. Program connections will be made to language, mathematics, art and science. Participants will explore and play with naturally occurring objects from nature and will connect to the "big idea". BIG IDEA: Children are curious and connect prior knowledge to new contexts in order to understand the world around them. (FDEL-K 2010, pg 114)
