Hello, Parkwood Families!
Parkwood welcomes Mrs. Erin Taynor, our new Building Office Assistant! We are excited to have her on our team!
Our annual Kindergarten registration is scheduled for March 1 - 3. If you know anyone with a child that will be eligible for the 2022-2023 kindergarten class, please spread the word about our upcoming registration.
Pick-Up:
As we continue through the second semester, I want to share a few reminders with you regarding parent pick-up. We have seen an increase in adults picking their student up in the parking lot. We strongly encourage you to pick up your student by the pine trees. This process is in place to ensure your student is safely dismissed to you at the end of the day. We have been seeing an increase in students running to cars in the parking lot while adults are sitting in the car waiting for them. We can not have this procedure. It is not safe for our students and causes congestion and confusion for a safe dismissal. If you are parking in the parking lot, you will need to come and get your child when they dismiss from the building. Thank you so much for your help with these processes as we all work together to keep everyone safe.
I know students are wanting to go outside for recess! It has been difficult the last few weeks because of our weather. We will go outside if at all possible! Please make sure your child is dressed for the weather. If you think your child may be missing a jacket, sweatshirt, hat, glove, lunchbox, etc. please stop by our Lost and Found.
Thank you for sharing your lovely children with us!
Sincerely,
Sue Bamford

Preschool Information for Parents
Preschool - Early Registration:
These forms will be coming home this week and are due by Feb. 24th. Families can complete early registration if they have a returning preschooler. Additionally, if they have a returning preschooler and have a younger sibling eligible for our preschool program, they can register the younger sibling as well.
Family Kindergarten Information Night:
The preschool program will be hosting an in-person Family Kindergarten Information Night on Thursday, Feb. 17th at the Preschool Center.
- 5:30-6:00pm - Tuition Paying Peers
- 6:30-7:00pm - Students on an IEP
While both presentations will be the same, families with students on an IEP may have questions that specifically relate to their child and how being on an IEP may look in kindergarten.
Both sessions will have a representative from the elementary team to help answer questions. If a family is unable to make the meeting, information will be sent home the following week.
