The Tiger Parent Connection

August 22nd - 26th

Class Schedule for This Week

This week we will be following this schedule:

Monday, Wednesday and Friday - 2A, 3A, 4A, 5A

Tuesday, Thursday - 2B, 3B, 4B, 5B

Friday we will have Tiger TIme! What is Tiger Time? This is a time for students to gather and celebrate all of their hard work for the week. Students will gather, with their teachers, on either the softball field or football field. To participate, students will need to have turned in all of their work. This does not include any students who have been absent and need time to make up their missing assignments.

Last week we hosted our first Afternoon of Athletics. It was a huge success and the athletes and spectators both enjoyed the event. We will be offering this same opportunity in the future without the requirement of a parent signing a student out when picking up.

DCMS will host a Tiger Parent Night Thursday, September 22nd for all parents/guardians. Gifted and ESOL will begin promptly at 5:30 where parents/guardians will gain insight into these two programs. Beginning at 6pm, parents will follow their child’s schedule and receive a brief overview of the curriculum and plan for class from each teacher. During this time, students who attended Dawson County Schools last year will also receive a printed copy of your child’s Georgia Milestone scores.

Counselor's Corner

This week your students will begin their social emotional learning journey via a program called 7Mindsets. This platform allows students to pursue various mental health mindsets throughout the year using simple, yet powerful language. Students will participate in these lessons via their tutorial class each Friday. They will watch short videos, have classroom discussion, and take time for individual application. To learn more about this amazing program follow this link to their parent newsletter. If you have any questions, please feel free to reach out to the DCMS counselor.
