Resources Available For Your Child

This edition of the newsletter will focus on free resources that are available for your child.

Georgia Virtual School (GaVS) Peer Tutoring Center

Were you aware that GaVS has a Peer Tutoring Center?

GaVS provides peer tutoring in the subjects of Biology, Physical Science, Physics, CCGPS Analytic Geometry, CCGPS Coordinate Algebra, 9th Grade Lit/Comp, 10th Grade Lit/Comp, American Literature, US History, World History, Spanish I, Japanese I, Latin I, all Middle School Social Studies courses, all Middle School Math courses, all Middle School Language Arts courses, Middle School Science 7, and Middle School Science 8.

If your child is interested in receiving tutoring in one of the subjects referenced, please have him/her complete the Recommendation for Peer Tutoring Services Application by clicking here.

Shmoop provides students with online instructional content in the form of learning guides, college readiness prep, test prep, and an assortment of other resources. GaVS students can create an account to keep track of scores earned on practice tests. Flashcards can also be created by your child to assist in studying. USA Test Prep

The USA Test Prep resource provides students with an opportunity to access activities and sample items for several end of course tests. Students should access the GaVS Media Center to obtain information on the school's username and password.

Course Specific Self-Assessments and Reviews

Your child has an opportunity to self-assess prior to attempting the end of unit quiz/test. The images below provide details of the self-assessments available in your child's course
