The School Store Fundraiser

FUNDRAISER KICKOFF
Parents,
On Monday, August 19th, your child will come home with a fundraiser packet from The School Store. Please go to www.schoolstore.net and sign up! Once you complete this process, you will get a Prize Code that your child can redeem for a Backpack Pet (Grades PK-3) or a Fitness Tracker (Grades 4-5)! There are 3 ways listed inside that your family and friends can help our school:
1. Make a 100% tax-deductible donation by purchasing a CaringforClassrooms.org gift card redeemable by your child's teacher for classroom supplies and equipment.
2. Renew or purchase magazine subscriptions, DVDs, cookbooks and more, where the school will earn up to 50% of your purchase.
3. Shop online with over 350 major vendors like Walmart (online grocery ordering included), Kohl's Best Buy, etc. and the school earns a percentage of the sales.
Our School Store will stay open ALL YEAR LONG! If you buy online, please check our vendor list so our school will benefit from your purchase! A list of some of our vendors is pictured below.
Also, don't forget to check your Golden Ticket in your envelope to see if your family is the lucky $100 winner!

Attendance Matters

Our school of approximately 345 students, we had 4,415 absences and 1437 tardies for the 18/19 school year! 31.8% of our students are considered Chronically Absent by the ALSDE. This impacts learning so much! Take a look at the chart below to see how much school your child is really missing when those days and minutes add up.

Help Our School and Buy a School Snack!

We sell a variety of snacks daily at school to help our school make purchases throughout the year. The money raised through our school snack program goes towards our janitorial fund to purchase toilet paper, paper towels, cleaning supplies, etc.

We appreciate your help!

Please Wear PE/Recess Appropriate Shoes to School

We need your help! Please make sure your child is wearing PE/Recess appropriate shoes to school each day. This is for the safety of your child, as well as for ensuring that instructional time is not spent changing shoes. Coach Simmons has about 70 kids in each PE class, and we want them to be able to participate in all of their PE class. We also want to make sure your child gets the most out of recess each day. Please help us make sure your child is able to enjoy PE and recess to the fullest! Thank you!

School Picture Day is August 30th!

We will need 4 parent volunteers to assist with Picture Day. If you are available, please email Kim.Wales@lcsk12.org

Kids and Kin includes a Voluntary Certification Program through which providers earn health and safety items, books, and learning materials for attending free training sessions related to quality child care enhancement. Participation in the Kids and Kin Program is free.
