JACK PLANK TELLS TALES
JACK PLANK TELLS TALES
This is a story of a man named Jack Plank who was once a pirate on the ship called the Avarice. There was very little food aboard and they had to get rid of someone. They really liked Jack Plank, a pirate who was always nice to them, but because he couldn't plunder very well, they chose to send him off the ship onto an island.
The island was one of the islands of Jamaica in the Caribbean sea. Jack Plank searched for a place to stay. He finally found a boarding house. He stayed there while he looked for work but all the time he looked for work, fear prevented him from doing his jobs. In each job he did, he was reminded of stories he had heard from other ship mates aboard the Avarice. He came back and told the guests the strange experiences his ship mates had told him. He tried being a Gardener in a garden with a bridge but he was afraid like in one ship mate's tale that there would be a troll under the bridge. His ship mate said he was thrown into the water by the troll. He couldn't be the gardener. He also tried being a goldsmith, but he remembered an experience someone on the island had told him. The person said he had seen three men splitting gold and only one man lived because of greed. This made him not want this job for fear it would happen to him. He also tried some other jobs which did not suit him due to stories he had heard. Read the book to find out what job he ends up doing.
