What We are Learning
Under Construction - Traveling
Dear Families,
Last week, children learned that transportation is a way of traveling from one place to another place. This week, children will focus on the places that transportation gives us the opportunity to visit. They will learn about destinations on all seven continents.
This week’s Family Connections activities can be found at:
https://portal2.frogstreet.com/wp-content/uploads/prek2/familyconn/ENG-FC-T6-W3.pdf
This week’s storybook, “Gram is Coming to My House” can be found at: https://portal2.frogstreet.com/ebook/?bookname=EXCEL709-Gram-is-Coming_eBooks.
We’re so excited to continue learning with your little one!
Sincerely,
MREC PreK
Your child may come home with a Notice of Immunization Non-Compliance letter in their red folder. If you receive this letter, it is because the school is missing documentation of immunizations required for kindergarten. If your child has already received immunizations at their 4 year well child visit, please provide documentation to the school. If your child has not yet received these immunizations, please make arrangements to have them completed as soon as possible. Immunization documents may be dropped off at the school or emailed to the school nurse at ashleyjohnson@melissaisd.org.
Building Character
PurposeFull Pursuit:
We have all demonstrated Perseverance in our lives. Many of us have seen people practice Perseverance in ways that have inspired us. Stories are powerful tools for connecting as a family. Protect time this week to share stories about Perseverance with each other (you can use the story prompts to get started). At the end of the conversation, think of 1 way you can practice Perseverance this week.
Story Prompts:
- A time I (or someone else) showed Perseverance was _____.
- An act of Perseverance that changed/challenged me was _____.

If it matters to one Cardinal, it matters to all Cardinals.
