Media Literate
Without the use of media today information would be much harder to reach broad scopes of people. Media, in my own words, is any technology used to send or share information to the world. Media literate is to study, analyze, and evaluate the use of media. Today media is everywhere in our daily lives. Adults that read the newspapers regularly are even apart of the massive media consumption. Most young people carry their whole lives in the palm of their hands in the form of a cell phone. It’s actually quite ridiculous when you’re in a room full of people and everyone is silent concentrating on their phone screens. This is because with a cell phone you have access to vast sources of media and social media applications and websites. Media literate should show us how people interact and react to these sources.
In many schools today the use of books is declining and being taken over by computers and cell phones. A couple years ago this was just a fantasy but these tools help us access up-to date information and get different sources other than just one passage or chapter on the subject. We could look up a video to get the information or use a respectable database if we are doing a research paper. All together the use of media helps humans function on a global scale much easier than ever before. I believe this is why we have been able to do the great things we have accomplished humans.
