MacBeth Act 1 Secene 1
1971 Roman Polanski vs. 2010 Rupert Goold
The play vs. the films Ding DIng
So the two Macbeth films that are being compared are the 1971 Roman Polanski version and the 2010 Rupert Goold version. The 1971 version is the more accurate to the book. The reason being is that in the scene we watched was about the 3 witches. They were dressed like how witches should be dressed like outcasts, dirty, and creepy. Unlike the 2010 version when they were dressed like nurses. I liked this movie better because it was more accurate to the book.
The personality of the witches
In the 2 films that are being compared, the witches were both kinda evil and trouble makers. This is important because it shows that even in 2 different movies made decades apart the witches are still troublemakers.
The witche's apperances
In the 2 films that are being compared, the witches are dressed very differently. In the 1971 version they are dressed like leopards, but in the 2010 version they are dressed like nurses. This is important because it shows how the directors had 2 different ideas of how to portray the witches in the films.
The settings of Macbeth
In the 1971 version the witches in the beginning were on a coast line, but in the 2010 version they were in some kind of underground bunker. This is important because it shows how the directors and producers had different ideas for each film.
