GREGORY HILL NEWSLETTER
December 2022
Message from the Principal
Hello Parents, Families, and Community Members,
I hope everyone had a wonderful Thanksgiving. It will be a quick three weeks at Gregory Hill before winter break. We have a few things planned to celebrate the season with our students. “Santa” will be visiting with classrooms December 13th or 14th. We would also like to invite all families to join us for our Winter Program on December 15th. The morning session will start at 8:30 and the afternoon session will be at 12:30.
Last month we were able to reward 100% attendance to 65 students. We are hoping to celebrate more students this month.
This time of year can be stressful for families. Keep in mind the greatest gift we can give children is our undivided attention. Roll a snowball, play pretend, schedule 15 to 20 minutes a day to play with your child.
I wish you all a wonderful holiday season.
Jennifer Keyes

Events
Parent Teacher Organization (PTO)
During our December meeting, we will be wrapping gifts and preparing for Santa’s visit. We hope everyone can join us in room 1 on December 8th at 8:15 or 12:15.
Santa Visit
Santa will make his annual visit to the ELC on December 13th & 14th. Classes will be allowed to take photos (individually and as a class) with Santa. If you would like your child not to participate in this activity, please inform your child’s classroom teacher and a suitable alternative activity will be provided.
Winter Celebration
Please join us on December 15th at 8:30 AM & 12:30 PM, in the gym for the ELC Winter Celebration. Your child will be demonstrating a song that they have learned this year. We will also celebrate the season with our families as we enjoy cookies and juice.
Delayed Start
As the weather starts to get cooler and we get more snow the district may call a delayed start. If a delated start is announced, there will be no class for the AM session. The PM session will continue as a normal school day.
Clothing
Please make sure your child comes prepared for the weather. Classrooms will be going outside most days, so your child needs to wear appropriate clothing! If you need assistance with winter clothing, please contact the ELC office.
Building News
This month, the preschool staff received their annual training on CPR and First Aid. Safety is very important to us and these trainings are a wonderful way to continue our education.
Does your child need health care?
Kids First Health Care is attached to our school and can provide well care and sick visits for your children. You may click the link below, stop by for an appointment or call 303-428-4384.
Attendance Matters
Although some absences are unavoidable, it is important that students attend school as often as possible. Preschool is a great time to start building a habit of good attendance. Please note that we are allowing days for students to be absent for illness and do not want families to send children to school sick. Students are asked to stay home if they are experiencing any cold/flu like symptoms. We will be celebrating all students that have perfect attendance each month. A small gift will be given to each student that has attended school 100% of the days for each month.
