1. What is your "go to" song for the journey to school?
I don’t really have a “go to” song for the journey to school. However, I do enjoy listening to K-LOVE in the morning. It’s positive and it helps keep me grounded in my faith.
2. Do you have a favorite saying or quote that you try to live by?
I try to follow the advice that someone gave me years ago, be slow to speak, quick to listen, and slow to become angry. I struggle with this at times, but it’s sound advice and something that I strive to do.
3. What is one of your hidden talents?
About 10 years ago my cousin taught me how to make shrimp scampi and ever since then I have really come to enjoy the challenges that cooking presents. I try to cook with my daughters at least once a week. Not only is it a good way to spend time with one another, but it also helps us to communicate better.
4. What are your "trapped on a desert island" books or movies?
My trapped on a desert island book would have to be The Bible. In terms of movies I would have to go with Episodes IV, V, & VI of Star Wars, the Lord of the Rings Trilogy, and an assortment of different sports movies.
5. If you could take your students on a field trip to anywhere in the world, where would you take them?
I would have to say Hawaii. I was able to visit the islands of Maui and Kauai 15 years ago, and it was by far the most amazing place I have ever been. I would want them to witness firsthand all the natural beauty that the islands possess.
6. What is one piece of advice you would give to your students?
Stand for what’s right, even when it gets difficult.
