NOTICE: Bylaws and Standing Rules Revision

BPM PTA has grown this year in terms of general membership, board and committee membership, volunteerism, and overall family participation. Since we know that a strong PTA helps to build a strong school community, we want to keep the momentum going.

This year, our Legislative Committee has worked hard to update and revise BPM PTA's Bylaws and Standing Rules -- the rules and guidelines for how our organization is run. We brought our bylaws up to date with current PTA policies and cut down the document length.

As part of our standing rules, we reorganized the board structure and more clearly defined each position. We hope that this will give incoming board members a better understanding of their duties and make the year run smoothly.

We will vote to adopt our new bylaws at the next PTA meeting on March 14th. Please review our new bylaws and standing rules and, if you would like to suggest changes, either email brookparkmemorialpta@gmail.com or attend the meeting.

The Legislative Committee is Kristen Kreuzer, Sarah Dlugokecki, Gina Conner, and Andi Whitaker.

Join the PTA Board for next year!

The Executive Board Nominating Committee is looking for PTA members who would like to get more involved with their students' school experience in the coming year. The Executive Board positions are:

  • President
  • 1st VP (Assemblies)
  • 2nd VP (Fundraising)
  • 3rd VP (Family Events)
  • 4th VP (Membership)
  • Secretary
  • Treasurer
  • Council Delegate (Scholarship)
  • Council Delegate (Nominating)

For a complete description of all positions, please click here. Please note, there are also Standing Committee positions (such as Hospitality) that are appointed rather than elected. We're also looking for people to help out with those, though!

If you would like to nominate yourself or someone else for a position, please email nominations to Kristen Kruezer at mengkreuzer@yahoo.com. (Thank you to Kristen, Stephanie Valek, and Sarah Dlugokecki for serving as our Nominating Committee!)

This year we had several students submit works of art or literature to our PTA Reflections program. We would like to recognize the following artists and writers for their contributions:

  • Elizabeth Chen - Visual Arts
  • Ellie Conner - Literature
  • Haley Daulton - Literature
  • Madalyn Ramser - Visual Arts
  • Hazel Whitaker - Visual Arts

Family Fitness Fair Moved to May 7

Due to a scheduling error with the Brook Park Rec Center, our Family Fitness Fair has been moved to Saturday, May 7.

If you know of any physical fitness groups (martial arts studios, gymnastics, dance, yoga, kids' sports organizations, etc.) or healthy food vendors who would like to participate as exhibitors or vendors at the Fair, please email us at brookparkmemorialpta@gmail.com. This is an excellent promotional opportunity for groups and we are not charging exhibitor fees, though we are asking for raffle basket item donations.

Founder's Day Celebration

Join us in honoring all of our PTA units' Helping Hands and Outstanding Educators. We will also be celebrating our Reflections winners who advanced to the state level.

Light refreshments will be served.

Event will be held in the cafeteria of MHJH 7000 Paula Dr, Middleburg Hts on Sunday, Feb. 28th at 2 PM.

Thanks to everyone who attended Bingo Night!

The BPM PTA would like to thank all of those families who came out to support our fourth annual Bingo Night on February 5th. We raised almost $1,200, which will directly support the students at BPM! A round of thanks to all of our volunteers and our generous donors – without them, this event would not have been possible. And finally, a big thank you to Tyler Wieland and Matthew Nace, who volunteered to keep the excitement of the night going until the end with their impromptu hot dog eating contest! It ended up being a tie, but kept us entertained!
