He pānui o te tumuaki - A note from Whaea Alicia

What an incredible term we have had - term 3 2022 has been full of amazing community events, fundraisers and most of all incredible learning action from all of our tamariki. I felt so proud of our tamariki last week at the learning celebration. It really showed just how 'uniquely & special' our wee kura is by the way we do learning with the child/ren at the centre of all we do through our L4L inquiry learning process. When we get to see, hear and feel the joy, the energy and the enthusiasm in our celebration of learning it lights up, like magic, the whole journey our children go on as they learn through this process. Kei te mihi kia koutou - thank you to you all, this magic wouldn't happen without your support for our kura/school to do what we need to do. This was evident in the success of the market day on the weekend, initiated by our tamariki in Toroa as an action of entrepreneurism, our L4L focus this year.

During the break you will see that the large shelter hedge that lines the driveway is being cut, which means the driveway will not be accessible during this time. We hope to have it cleared by Wednesday 5th October (weather permitting). The BOT and myself would appreciate it if you can avoid bringing the children to play on the playground while this is happening, particularly when the machinery is on site to ensure safety.

We wish you all a wonderful term 3 break and look forward to seeing you and your tamariki back for an exciting term four.
