FAQ - How do Paraprofessionals earn Flex Time for December 22?
What does a paraprofessional need to do to make this happen?
Paraprofessionals must work a total of 44 hours for one week of the semester.
How can I do that?
One example...You could work extra time during parent conference week...for example, you can work your regular 37.5 hour schedule plus 4 hours on Fall festival night and another 2 hours on Thursday's parent conference night.
What if the parent conference week doesn't work for me?
You could work 44 hours on another week of the semester. For example, if you have a 3 hour training session scheduled for one evening plus work an extra hour three days that week, you could also earn 44 hours in a week.
What if I have already worked a 44 hour week?
Then you have already earned your flex day! Talk with Mrs. Burkhalter to make sure she has you marked off the list.
How do I know if I've earned my flex day?
Please talk with Mrs. Burkhalter about your plans to earn the flex day by Friday, Sept. 29.
Staff Attendance
Why is this important?
YOU are one of the greatest factors for student success. When you are here, quality learning can take place. All the planning doesn't replace having you as the teacher in the classroom.
How can we turn this around and encourage our students to be in class?
What incentives are you using to encourage attendance?
Fall Festival Update
We are excited to offer a Fall Festival this year that will coincide with parent conference week and early voting!
- Our Fall Festival will be on Tuesday, October 24 from 5:00 - 7:00.
- Tabitha Russell will be sending out a sign-up sheet so all teams can sign up for booths. Your booth can be a carnival style game or other activity for students to earn candy prizes.
- The games at the festival will be free for families.
- Much of our candy and prizes are being donated by Mission 75165. Donations of candy or prizes from parents are also accepted.
- We plan to have concessions available.
- Since Early Voting is also happening in the gym, we will plan to have all booths outside lining the driveways, weather permitting. In the case of bad weather, we will use the cafeteria and classrooms.
- Parent conferences may still happen during the fall festival! Teams can cover for each other, ask for parent or ambassador volunteers to cover booths while teachers conduct conferences.
