Message From the Principal
Happy Weekend Titans,
On Monday, we start the Georgia Milestone testing for the 8th grade. The 9th grade End Of Course Tests (EOCT) will take place next, and then the 6th grade and 7th grade will start their Georgia Milestone testing. We have spent all year preparing, and our students are ready.
We hosted a "Rock the Milestones" pep rally to encourage our students to do their best on the tests by showing what they know. Our core message was students need to continue to give their all while having faith in the preparation they have received this year. Although every student is different, the one thing they have in common is the ability to grow and bring their best self. To encourage students, Graduation Coach Tongue had each grade level compete in balloon relay games, and tug-o-war to show students everybody does things just a bit different, but the goals can be the same. High school students from Roswell High and Milton High came back to give testimonials about what they have experienced and discovered since they walked the halls of Elkins Pointe. Students viewed an improv skit with tips on how to be successful during testing. Our Spirit Squad cheered for Titans to "Be The Voice" and to do their "Best on the Test!"
Parents, please help your children do their best by making sure they are in the right frame of mind. Please ensure your 8th grade child gets plenty of rest, eats a good breakfast either a home or at school, is on time for school, and they have charged their laptop. If you can help with these things, your child will be less stressed, things will go smoothly, and your child will have a successful testing experience.
8th graders, It is time to show how much you have learned and how far you have traveled in your learning!

Georgia Milestones Info
The Georgia Milestones is a comprehensive, end-of-grade (EOG) assessment program given in middle school to grades 6-8. Georgia Milestones measures how well students have learned the knowledge and skills outlined in the state-adopted content standards in English Language Arts, mathematics, science, and social studies. The Georgia Milestones Assessments provide a measurement of student achievement: what they have learned and can do at the end of their grade level year (as described in the expectations stated in the Georgia Performance Standards). The primary purpose of Georgia Milestones is to improve student achievement by providing information that guides plans for improving teaching and learning.
What types of questions will be on the Georgia Milestones Assessments?
• Open-ended (constructed response) items in English Language Arts and math
• A writing component within the English Language Arts Assessments (in response to passages read by students)
• Nationally norm-referenced items to provide a national comparison, alongside criterion-referenced items
• Multiple choice items
Parents are our partners! Please see the links below for more information about Georgia.
