Reynolds Family Weekly Newsletter
January 23, 2022
This week our district COVID procedures moved from individual close contact tracing to the new Group Tracing Approach. We are providing a link in the section "Letter from District" to view the information that was sent by the district. This new procedure allows all students to remain in school unless a student is experiencing symptoms or tests positive. Please notify the school if your child tests positive. We appreciate everyone's patience and support.
This week we will practice our monthly disaster drill.
Mr. Torrico, our school counselor, will lead Reynolds as we participate in the Great Kindness Challenge and encourage students to demonstrate acts of kindness.

Letter from District
Dear Parents/Guardians/Caregivers,
Starting tomorrow, we’re moving to the new Group Tracing Approach for students potentially exposed to COVID-19 at school, as announced by the California Department of Public Health (CDPH).
Instead of individual contact tracing, we’re implementing the following per CDPH:
We’ll notify an entire class, team, etc. if they were exposed to a COVID-positive individual.
Potentially exposed students, regardless of COVID-19 vaccination status or prior infection, should get tested for COVID-19 with at least one diagnostic test obtained within 3-5 days after last exposure. Your child’s school will provide a link to a short form to submit testing results.
Potentially exposed students who participate in testing may continue to take part in all aspects of K-12 schooling, including sports and extracurricular activities, unless they develop symptoms or test positive for COVID-19.
When students are exposed to a COVID-19 positive person in a school setting, OUSD will notify parents/guardians in writing of the exposure. All students may remain in school unless they are experiencing symptoms or have tested positive.
Remember to keep students who are experiencing symptoms or who test positive at home. If your student tested positive for COVID-19, the recommendation is to test on day 5 before returning to campus.
The San Diego County public health documents and decision trees, to which OUSD adheres, have been updated with this new information; OUSD will implement the changes effective immediately.
For testing locations or vaccination information, please visit our COVID-19 Plan site.
