Suggested method of working
1.Create a contact list for your
To speed up the sharing of files and communicating with your group, create a contact list. see linked handout on how
2.Structuring your drive
To prevent getting hundreds of loose files in your "shared with me" section, Create a folder for your group and share it with them, using the group contact list.
3.Students structuring their drive
To help the students structure their drive, get them to create a folder for each of their topics in the folder you shared with them.
4.Production of course work
The student creates their, presentation, document and spreadsheet using Google apps, all files to be shared with the tutor are created in their topic folder
5.Formative assessment
Because students' course work is being created in the shared folders staff can review and comment on it throughout its gestation. This in turn allows you to make an earlier intervention if problems arise.
Staff can add comments as seen below, students can then respond, by adding further comments or marking it as resolved
6.Summative assessment
Those staff who wish their student to use Turnitin, can ask their students to download the files and s PDF and them upload them to Turninit via a Moodle assessment.
For those staff who don't need a plagiarism check, there is no need to do anything with files as they already submitted. Any student attempting to amend their files after the deadline day to be caught out by the revision history feature.
