Spelling Bee Finale is this Saturday!
The students who have made it to the Final Oral Round, will compete on Saturday January 29th @11:00 a.m. in the Longfellow Multi-Purpose Room.
Saturday, January 29 Rounds are as follows:
8:30 -9:30 - Kindergarten & 1st Grade
9:45 -10:45 -2nd & 3rd Grades
11:00 -12:00 -4th & 5th Grades

Ice Skating for 2nd-5th Grade
Students in Grades 2-5 will go out every Thursday or Friday (depending on their scheduled PE day for the week), weather permitting, through February 18th. Students are welcome to bring their own skates and helmets. Please DO NOT send hockey sticks. If your student does not have skates we have several pairs they can borrow. Hey 5th Graders, Come try out the band instruments!
Greetings 5th Grade Families! Don't forget to come to Ben Franklin on Thursday, Feb. 10 from 5:00-7:00 p.m. (if you can't make it on the 10th you can come on the 8th.)to try out the instruments, meet the band directors and visit with local music store representatives. Please come to the Ben Franklin main lobby outside of the auditorium. Use the Main (East) entrance. It is okay to come to the other time if your scheduled school time does not work for your family. If you are unable to attend either of these nights, BF band directors will be returning to the elementary music classrooms so all students may have an opportunity to try.

Spring Carnival
NEEDED: Volunteers to plan the Spring Carnival - Sign up by Feb. 1st, 2022

The spring carnival will be scheduled for the beginning of April. We need volunteers to begin planning.
NOTE: If there are no volunteers, the carnival will not happen. Each grade level will need at least 1 volunteer on the planning committee.
Kindergarten Registration Begins February 1!
Kindergarten Registration for Fall 2022 is open online at www.fargo.k12.nd.us/registration on February 1, 2022. Your child must be age 5 by July 31, 2022 to attend school in the fall.
Registration is a two-step process:
STEP ONE: REGISTER ONLINE
Complete online registration forms at www.fargo.k12.nd.us/registration. For assistance, please contact your child’s school to schedule an appointment to complete in-person. Masks are required for all visitors.
STEP TWO: SUBMIT DOCUMENTATION
Upload or bring the following documents to your child’s school by August 25 to finalize registration.
- Child’s certified birth certificate
- Child’s immunization record with 5-year shots
- Document (i.e. current city utility bill or bank statement) that includes parent/guardian name and current address for verification

Changes to FPS Testing Sites and Hours
Due to staffing shortages, Fargo Public Schools is offering COVID-19 testing to its students, their families, and staff member as part of it’s testing program. Testing registration with the ND Department of Health must be completed prior to tests being administered. For the North High/South High sites, snap a photo of the QR code above to register. Additionally, parent/guardian consent is required at the time of the test administration. Parents/guardians can provide consent using the FPS testing consent form in PowerSchool.

To test Children with Special Needs &/or Sensory Difficulties. The Fargo Cass Public Health Testing Site at 3051 25th Street South, Fargo, Suite K. Remember to Pre-Register ND Dept. of Health COVID Testing Registration: https://testreg.nd.gov/?eventid=c7725ef9-2711-ec11-b6e6-001dd8308015 For Special Needs/ Sensory Needs students: parents may come in the FRONT door and notify testing staff that they will be pulling into the back. Then pull around to the back of the building, near the loading ramp and dumpster. Public Health Nurses will then go to them allowing the child can stay in their car. Staff cannot see out the back door, so you must notify them first. ***This process is only for students with Special Needs/ Sensory Difficulties.***. All others should enter through the front door.
