Have A Wonderful Labor Day Weekend

****Early Release Next Wednesday at 12:55****

Our first full week of school went great! Our students have done an exceptional job getting back into the school routine. Our Kindergartens are impressing us every day! Mrs. Gedville and I are going into classrooms and seeing students engaged in reading and great conversations. Our students are being respectful to each other and setting examples for their peers.

What a great start of the school year!

Elementary Media Center

Students have been busy taking tours of the Media Center and checking out books. K-2 students are allowed to keep their library books for 1 week and must bring them to school on checkout day. Your child’s classroom teacher can let you know when their checkout day is.

Grades 3 – 5 can keep their books for up to 2 weeks. Students who finish early may return them early, and arrange with their classroom teacher to come to the Media Center to check out a new book.

The attached document has more specifics about late books and lost or damaged books

Millburn WebStore

The Millburn WebStore is available! Parents can now pay for activity fees, sports fees, and more! Simply go to to access the Millburn WebStore.

The Millburn WebStore and PushCoin Wallet have replaced Revtrak. Please do not make payments to RevTrak after today.

In the Millburn WebStore, you will have the option to make payments with a credit card, bank account, or for some items your child’s PushCoin Wallet. To add funds to your child’s PushCoin Wallet, go to

School Spirit Days

The first Wednesday of each month are our Spirit Days. Students can wear any Millburn gear they have or wear our school colors (red, white, black). Our first Spirit Day of the year will be next Wednesday, September 4th.

MAP Testing

Students in 1st- 5th grade will do our fall testing in reading and math the week of September 9th. Students are administered the MAP assessment (Measure of Academic Progress). This computer-based assessment allows us to see what skills students have mastered and skills they need to focus on. Our goal is to see continued growth in students, no matter what skill level they are at. Below is a quick video about the assessment.

Special Rotation/Calendar

All K-5 students have Specials every day. Students rotate on a five-day schedule which includes PE, Art, Technology, Music, and another day of PE. We provide families with our Specials Calendar so you know what Specials will occur on certain days throughout the year. You can find this information on our website using the link below.

Hot Lunch Procedures

With the transition to PushCoin, our hot lunch procedures have changed. Instead of students handing over a ticket to receive their hot lunch, students will now enter their 5 digit ID number that is assigned to them at Millburn. For the first few months, students will have ID cards in the cafeteria for them to grab and use to input their ID number. It is our goal that students will begin to memorize their numbers and not need the ID cards. Kindergarten students simply hand their card over instead of typing them in. We hope that we can transition our KDG students into typing the ID number by mid-year.
