Student Online Instruction Begins
Our teachers were actively engaging students in fun online activities for the past week, so that we can prepare for the first full week of Online Learning. During this engagement time, we were able to identify students that were not engaged. A system was put in place to find out why they weren't engaged. On Friday, April 3, our teachers launched the first day of Online Content Learning. We will continue this week. The first week online will be a lot like the first week of the school year – setting norms and expectations regarding what online learning will look like and making sure students and their parents have the tools and ability needed to participate in online learning.
Please have your student log into Schoology and begin engaging with their content and teachers. Below let's you know how many times a week content will be posted for students to interact and engage in by subject. As a reminder, students are expected to engage in asynchronous (online, self-paced) learning in their core classes and any high school credit courses, and are highly encouraged to engage in synchronous (live) office hours/conferences with all teachers and with their other elective classes' asynchronous opportunities. There will be two types of learning taking place asynchronous (online self-paced) and synchronous (live). See below to understand the difference between the two.

Student and Parent Online Support
We want students to have an engaging and successful experience with online learning, and the following tools are provided to assist students in the online learning environment. These support tools consist of technical, program and application-specific videos, guides, training, chats and more to assist parents as students need support at home with engaging in their virtual classroom.
Additionally, FBISD has set up an Online Learning Support Call Center, providing live support for questions and answers for parents and students. 281-634-0826. Available 8 a.m. - 8 p.m.
