iPad Return for Eighth-Graders
Dear Eighth-Grade Parents/Guardians and Students -
Around this time of the school year, we typically begin sharing communications about how eighth-grade students should close down their D103 Google G-Suite accounts and details of the plan for collecting district issued student learning devices. With the current social distancing circumstances in place, our 8th grade students are set to drop-off and pick-up items on Friday, May 29, 2020. Please see the below information for action steps you need to take:
D103 Google G-Suite Accounts
Because our eighth-grade students will leave D103, the District will suspend their G-Suite accounts by July 1. G-Suite accounts can be accessed from any internet enabled device, so we are asking students to have all G-Suite resources they wish to keep, copied and/or moved no later than June 30, 2020. To save student files from the D103 Google G-Suite account, please refer to these student instructions.
District Issued iPad Return (BYO families please disregard the below section) -
Prior to returning the iPad on Friday, May 29, 2020, all parents/guardians should:
Remove all stickers and decals from the school issued case.
If there are any personal photos or videos you would like to save, please do so prior to drop-off. iPads will be reset and all photos/videos will be deleted.
Charge the iPad to 100%
On May 29 during iPad drop-off, the district will collect:
iPad
Complete iPad Keyboard Case
Charging block and charging cords
Eighth-grade students were issued a new iPad, a new keyboard case, a new charging block, and a new charging cord. We will use these devices for learning purposes in upcoming years and we need all of the above items returned. The cost for a replacement charging cord is $19. The cost for a replacement charging block is $19.
If you discover any damage to your iPad, please complete THIS FORM. Any repair/replacement fees will be applied to student accounts per our '19-'20 - 1:1 Participation Options, up to $50 for the 1st repair and 100% of costs for any additional repairs. We ask that all parents identify damages to their child’s device before they are turned in, to avoid any uncomfortable phone calls over the summer months.
If any questions come up, please reach out to your Daniel Wright Jr High School Technology Department at dw_familytechsupport@d103.org.
Thank you.
