Tritons:

Month one in the books! Great work team. Lots of exciting lessons happening all over the place. We have enjoyed visiting many classrooms over the past weeks and will continue this week. Keep shining. Items to consider:

A. Electronic Referral System. The e-referral system is ready to use. You can use the new google form in lieu of a paper referral. The AP referral can be found here: https://goo.gl/forms/J0n3sLSCeQCrtg5E2. There are also e-forms for RISE-Up and Counselor Referrals. All three forms can be found on our Triton Systems Hyperdoc. You can save a copy of the hyperdoc to your desktop for quick access. Simply follow this link to the hyperdoc and then download a copy to your desktop. You need to be logged in to your google drive to access all documents. (ex. shannon.chamberlin@sweetwaterschools.net).

B. 504. It's the final week of the 504 marathon. Thank you for your patience and support. We appreciate your feedback and making sure that the student's needs are being met.

C. PTSO Campaign. Thank you for passing out the membership forms. Please continue to encourage your TSP to participate and win the prizes mentioned in the flyer below. We will update the leader board shortly. Remember... it all comes back to us! Students who sign up online will get credit. This is the last week!! We have raised over $8000. Keep it going!!!

D. Rise Up. Mr. Mitrovich is accepting all customers periods 2-3-5-6 in Room 1001. Please make sure you fill out the referral that was sent to you or the paper copy that was in your box.

E. All Campus Assembly on August 31. Modified bell schedule, general assembly timeline, and simplified field setup can be found here.

F. Education Essentials Presentations in TSP. Counselors will be coming in during TSP classes for a presentation on Education Essentials for the next three weeks. 7th grade presentations will run from 08.27.18-09.06.18. 8th grade presentations will run from 09.06.18-09.14.18. Please limit TSP passes during these three weeks as much as you can.

7th Grade TSP schedule can be found here. 8th Grade TSP schedule can be found here.

G. Congratulations! Mrs. Balderas, Mr. Johnston, Mrs. Cooke, Mrs. Dukerschein and Mrs. Niboli for being Triton and Tryton Award winners! You rock.

H. Follow us on Twitter @EastLakeTritons!

I. Triton Awards! Start recognizing those great students of yours. Give them the shell award and have them find me at lunch or in my office for a treat. I always call their parents and it makes for great community building with your classroom. We will also start recognizing students weekly for the Triton Traits (In this case, Kindness). This is the last week for Kindness. We are going to the Growth Mindset Month! Go to the Hyperdoc to fill out a form and recognize an awesome kid for being kind.

J. Salute to Teachers and Tara Taylor. We hope to see you all out on September 15th in support of Tara Taylor. Click this link to purchase tickets. Way to go Tara!

K. Remember to finish your Online training (see below -- Mandated Reporter is due by 8.31.18).

As always, Go Tritons! If you have something that you would like me to share in the Triton Times, please let me know.

PTSO Contest

Help Our Student and Our School

We are having a great contest through our TSP classes for the month of August. We have some great incentives for the classes. We also have some surprises coming up for parents!
Big picture

Purple Pride!

Kindness Idea

Ms. Miller shared a great idea for promoting kindness. She took a few minutes out of her class to ask students to brainstorm on being kind. Way to go!

A Message from our Assistant Principals!

Dr. Shannon Chamberlin and Mendel Nafarrete

Please be aware that several students were found participating in a game called Passout where they hyperventilate for 30 seconds and then hold their breath in attempt to faint. It's a dangerous game that can cause serious damage to the students. We will be discussing this game with the students and parents.
