Principal's Update
Hello Wolfpack!
Next week, we will be hosting our Rising 9th Grade Information Night. If you know of a current 8th grader interested in coming to North Central, please let them know of this event. The open house will begin at 5:30.
Groovy Shoes is on the horizon. Spirit packs are on sale. Please let your student know that they must have a Groovy Shoes t-shirt to sit in the student section. If you need help purchasing a spirit pack, please email your student’s school counselor. Nearly every student attends, and we want your student there! This weekend the hallways are going to be alive with students decorating for Groovy Shoes. I cannot wait to see the results. The hallway decoration reveal is always one of my favorite days of the year.
As we prepare for One Pack Day on February 9, I wanted to ensure that the community is informed of this important event. Organizing an event that focuses on mental health is challenging. The conversation and questions are difficult. As we come together as one community, one pack, please help students understand the significance of this event, the importance of having this conversation. We will need your support to encourage students to fully engage in the meaningful conversations and activities.
The strength of the wolf is in the pack.

Groovy Shoes Shirts and Tickets
Groovy Shoes shirts are on sale in the Business Office for $10! Groovy Shoes t-shirts are required to sit in the student section at the Arena. If you need help buying shirts, please let your counselor or a teacher know!
To get into the student section, students will need both their official T-shirt and a ticket. Tickets must be purchased at the door and the prices are:
- Adult tickets are $10 (without a GSL pass)
- Student tickets are $5 (without an ASB card)
- Senior tickets are $5 (without a senior pass)
To raise funds for students who cannot afford Groovy Shoes packets, next Friday, the 27th, we have a hair-tastic fundraiser! All throughout next week, students and staff can go to the Business Office and donate money towards Mr. Nacarato, Mr. Halpin, or Mr. Sherwood to get their hair shaved! Whichever staff member gets the most votes will have their heads shaved next Friday morning! Be sure to donate to help get students into Groovy Shoes. You can also donate online at this link.
Whose hair should we shave for a good cause?

Course Registration Updates
This week students worked on course registration for next year. During advisory they were able to watch videos and plan for their classes. In case your student missed some or all of the days, they can view all resources for their grade level online! Please visit Enroll / NC Registration (spokaneschools.org) and select the grade your student will be in NEXT year to view resources. The best place to start is to watch the counselor video explaining specific requirements for the graduation level your student is in. Your student’s counselor will meet with them in the month of February to go over their course wish list, and finalize the registration, so you still have time to look at the materials before then!
Upcoming Mixer Guidelines
Our next mixer is on February 10th, and student ticket sales will be based on our updated dance guidelines. The following students are not eligible to attend the dance:
- Students from other schools, guests, or students not in grades 9-12
- Students with multiple failing grades for first semester
- Students who have had out-of-school suspensions during first semester
- Students whose attendance rate is below 70% for the semester
School administration may review individual students on a case-by-case basis. We encourage everyone to continue attending class, following school rules, and completing work to ensure you're able to participate in this event. The Junior class is hard at work preparing to make it a fun and engaging night for all of us.
