Novel Summary
John Stein-beck's novel of mice and men is a story of ones ambition to achieve there goals and the obstacles that might stand in the way through out the process. The story revolves around the two George and Lennie which both dream of owning their own ranch. Obstacles come in the way of this ambition which reveal the act of sacrifice. Lennie the mentally handicapped ironically is to become the greatest block in between achieving that dream.
Theme Analysis
The best theme that best suits this novel is loneliness. This theme seems to be best fit theme for this novel because that is what the story touches most upon. The story is based on loneliness every worker on the ranch is lonely of no freedom , friends or family. As to George has his side kick at the conclusion of this story he is sent back to a world of loneliness due to the death of his friend Lennie. This men are forced to wander from ranch to ranch seeking employment to live in bunk houses with strangers in a lonely world. guys like them don't have a place to call home a place where the truly belong they are the most loneliest guys of all.
Slim
Curley is describe to be a aggressive young man who is filled with jealousy and extremely strict of his new wife who seems to be a flirt. Curley is also the son of the ranch boss which puts him above the others. He picks fights just to prove himself bigger and better.
lennie
Lennie's personality is like that of a child. He is mentally handicap with no ability to understand fully certain concepts. Although of his disabilities Lennie is of great loyalty to George The things Lennie does to get him in a situation he do not mean to do on purpose because he has no conscience to define his actions. Completely depends upon George.

George which is the complete opposite of Lennie is describe as a physical with sharp features. George personality lights on both anger and also understanding of both the two men. George is the type to think before his actions and looks and thinks of the best to be successful of there dreams. George is thoughtful and a friend but he looks towards the best.
