The IB Learner profile aims to develop students who are thinkers. Students who are thinkers exercise initiative in applying thinking skills critically and creatively to recognize and approach complex problems, and make reasoned, ethical decisions.

IB students contribute to discussions in a meaningful way. They do not shy away from challenging questions and, once they know the answer, follow up by asking “why?”

Kids Heart Challenge

The American Heart Association’s Kids Heart Challenge program is kicking off on February 9th with a Zoom assembly! Help your child get a jump start by registering on the Kids Heart Challenge website- http://www2.heart.org/goto/laspositas

When registering, your child will choose a heart healthy challenge to Be Active or Be Kind and earn a FREE Road Warrior Wristband! Our goal is to have 100% of our students register online and take the Challenge.

This year, the KHC Explorers are going on a ROAD TRIP! CLICK HERE to jump on board and experience the road trip across the U.S. through daily activities for physical health, mental wellbeing and tips to help others with special hearts! Let’s have fun and save lives!


Can I Read Mine to You? Student proudly shares their compare/contrast paragraphs to a peer.	Thinking Maps Student highlights similarities and differences and creates a thinking map.	Formative Loop Students explain how they solved their math problem.
