Feburary 1st-5th
Week at a glance...
Math
This week in math, we will be exploring the term "half". Student will experiment with different materials, demonstrating their knowledge of halves. I look for students to be able to divide objects into "half" as well as show me what is "half of" an object. Students will be able to identify that "half" results in two equal parts.
Reading
In reading, we will be concentrating on the "oa", "ow", "-er", and "-est" sounds. Our comprehension practice will come from the story of Little Red Riding Hood.
Writing
We will begin writing thank-you letters this week. Please continue the discussion with your child about situations when a thank-you letter may be appropriate. I look forward to seeing who these precious children decide to thank.
Science
I know several students who will be thrilled to hear that we will be learning about amphibians this week!
Social Studies
With Feburary being Black History month, we are going to take a look at different time periods and various people that helped shape our unified society.
