Next week is Book Fair time! The Scholastic Book Fair will be going on in the Library from Monday, April 12th until Thursday, April 15th. The Book Fair will be open from 8am-4pm. If you’d like to stop by before school or during the school day, please get a pass from your teacher. This year we will be doing our book and poster giveaway electronically, so watch for an email from Mrs. Miller on how you can enter to win!!
Attention students: Please remember to charge your computers each night. It’s also important to bring your chargers to school in your neoprene bags, in case you need to charge your device at school. We have seen an increase in the number of kids coming to the library to borrow a charger, we don’t not have enough for everyone. Students need to be responsible to get their computer charged at home every night. If your charger is lost, the replacement cost is $10.
Who do you think of as a truly great human being? Would it be Gandhi? or the Pope or Martin Luther King, Jr.? These individuals have achieved greatness in a very public way, but consider this: There are individuals in your life, who may never be famous, but are truly great human beings. Former American baseball player Buck Rodgers knew something about greatness. He writes: There are countless ways of attaining greatness, but any road to reaching one's maximum potential must be built on a bedrock of respect for the individual, a commitment to excellence, and a rejection of mediocrity. We all have greatness within us __ something great and wonderful we can contribute to the world. Today, ask yourself what your greatest quality is and then think about ways you can share that with others.
Have a great weekend!
