October 9, 2019

From the Desk of Mr. Ruedinger

Please keep in mind there is no school on Thursday, October 10 and Friday, October 11, due to staff in-service. There will also be no school Friday, October 25. The school office is closed when there is on school.

The fall weather is here and the temperatures have cooled off quite a bit in October. Please make sure your children are dressed for the weather each day. We go outside for recess several times a day unless it is raining or too cold. Long sleeves and jackets are recommended. Just a reminder..... Oct. 31st is the last day to wear shorts until May 1st.

Parent–teacher conferences are an important component of ongoing school-home communication and family involvement at Christ Child Academy. Our goal each year is 100% attendance of all families! Remember to visit the Book Fair located in the hallway outside the school office during your visit.

The CCA Calendar Raffles for 2020 were sent home in last week's Carrier along with incentive information. This is a major fundraiser for our school and the goal is for each family to sell 20 calendar raffles. These may be sold face-to-face or online via our school website if your relatives or friends do not live nearby.

Parenting in the 21st Century

Why is Reading so Important?

Studies show that reading for pleasure makes a big difference to children's educational performance. Here is how you can get your child off to a great start.

National Walk to School Day

The National Walk to School Day, which was re-scheduled for today was awesome. We had over 130 parents, students, and staff participate as we came together to celebrate this fun day. Most, if not all, students were wearing a sports jersey or other favorite team apparel to bring awareness to Anti-Bullying Month and knock out bullying as a "TEAM". Thank you to the Home & School Committee for sponsoring this event and providing the refreshments.

Bullying Awareness Month

October is Bullying Awareness Month. This special month serves as a reminder that bullying prevention must be addressed. This year I would like to have students take an active stance towards focusing on this important topic. Each week we will have a theme with a corresponding dress up days. My reasoning behind selecting a weekly theme is to have the students be more engaged in the topic. I hope you encourage your students to participate! Thank you, Mrs. Lampe, School Counselor
