So, how might you use this week to prepare?
1) Based on the feedback you received from a colleague at last week's staff meeting, does your classroom reflect the necessary items for a Leader in Me classroom?
2) Are your hallway displays updated with current student work?
3) Please remind your classroom greeters to warmly welcome visitors to your classroom. This week, administrators and/or Lighthouse Team Members will be acting as visitors (aka not entering with a key) to help your student's practice their greetings, handshakes, and welcome to our classroom message! Please let Kristin Simmons know if you need support in this area! Let your students use this week to practice serving as the classroom greeter if this isn't a classroom practice for them.
CHORUS PRODUCTION
As you are planning for your last week before spring break, just thought you would want to know that the chorus is scheduled to perform the chorus show next Thursday afternoon for the entire school in the cafeteria.
The first show will begin at 1:00 pm for our older grades (3, 4, 5, UM)
The second show ill begin at 1:45 pm for our lower grades (4K, K, PM, 1, 2, LM)
Chorus students will need to report to the cafeteria at 12:45 pm (already dressed) - so Ms. Rayner will deliver their shirts to their classrooms so that they can change sometime before 12:45.
Thank you again to those teachers that willingly adjusted their lunch to accommodate for this performance!

#GIVEFORGARNET SOCIAL MEDIA CAMPAIGN!
April 10, is this year’s Give4Garnet day (the university-wide fundraising push). And the College of Education has chosen a very special recipient…The Carolina Teacher Induction Program! Last year the College of Ed earmarked all donations for the CarolinaLIFE program. You may remember the video that went viral of Mac opening his acceptance letter to CarolinaLIFE – that was the video the College of Ed made to help solicit funds for the program. This year CarolinaTIP is being featured. There’s a five-minute video that has already started floating around. The video, filmed at Meadowfield Elementary, can be found at top of the CarolinaTIP webpage.
CarolinaTIP started in our Professional Development Schools and will continue to serve our 21 PDS schools and we grow, expand and improve.
Look for our social media campaign all day on April 10! Help out if you can! Our very own Jessica Eastman and Jessica Phillips participate in CAROLINA TIP this year! We look forward to continuing our work with the PDS network and are so appreciative of what Carolina TIP does to support new teachers to the profession!
If you want to join us and participate as a social media ambassador on April 10, please do! Cheryl has created this google document to help us with the social media messages we have been asked to send out as a PDS school.
