What Did We Learn This Week?

Language Arts

This week was spent writing rough drafts, editing, and then writing final drafts of our future lives! It is so funny to read what the children's plans are for the future, and I am sure you will get a great laugh just as I have!! We also practiced comparing with adjectives using er and est in our writing. And, we took another CARS test. Please make sure to sign and return this test by Monday. It is in your child's Friday folder!

Math

We explored the customary and metric systems of measurement this week as our unit was on standard measurement. We focused on length and measured in centimeters and inches. It was fun measuring with rulers and tape measures!! Our Friday munchy math activity had to be postponed until Monday, but as I told the kids, it's something to look forward to next week!!!

Hebrew

Dear 2nd grade parents,

This was a review week. We practiced and drilled our Cursive Hebrew letters.

We also worked in our Shalom books, read stories and completed relater pages.

Please encourage your student to practice Hebrew at home with this fun app:

Science

We learned about the 5 animal kingdoms this week: mammals, birds, amphibians, reptiles, and fish. We learned that they are all vertebrates (animals with backbones). It was fun reading about these animals and listing 4 interesting facts about each one. Then, we had fun categorizing different animals into the 5 kingdoms. Next week, we will continue to study about these animals and review for our test that will be the following week.
